It’s Not About Our Plan!

It’s not about our plan! It’s about out faith and obedience. You may have heard the phrase “The best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray”. It’s not about our plan, it’s not about how each event will unfold for our own glory. That is not to say we cannot pursue our dreams and aspirations. But I’d ask you If God is part of the equation? Because if God is at the center of the equation, failure is not an option.

2 peter 1:5-8

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust the Lord with all your heart, and don’t depend on your own understanding. Remember the Lord in all you do, and he will give you success.

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Jesus Promised

Jesus promised us that taking up the cross and following Him would not be an easy task. He said we would have to deny ourselves and serve others. He said we would be persecuted for following Him. He also said he would never leave us and that our reward is not here but in heaven.

So, What's the Verdict?

So I ask, is God at the center of “your” plan? And, this is only a question you can answer for yourself, the answer is between you and the Lord. It’s a question for you to ponder and reflect on so you can honestly say yes or no to yourself and make any necessary changes as the Holy Spirit leads you.

We Have Free Will, How are You Using Yours?

As you ponder on the above question and you want to be sure where your heart is in the Lord, look at the “fruit” that you bear. Is it good or not so good? Again, for your own self reflection. It’s important to remember that we each have our own path, we each have our own mission, and judgement is left to the Lord.

Matthew 7:15-20

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the strength and authority you returned to us on the cross. Thank you for overcoming death and setting us free from a life in shackles and sin. Thank you for giving us authority over evil and the power to accomplish anything in your name to glorify You. Thank you for Holy Spirit that guides us down our path. I ask today Lord, if there are any doubters about your love, strength and power that their eyes be opened to who You truly are. I pray that each of us fully understand what it means to follow You and the influence we have as the light of the world. Thank you for walking with us, for leading us and for nudging us along our journey. Without you, we all would be lost in the darkness. Thank you Jesus, I pray in your precious name. Amen

May You Always Walk in the TRUTH!
