Life and life more abundantly
John 10:10 NKJV

Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly”
In the next verse, John 10:11 Jesus goes on to say, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
There is a lot to unpack in those two verses. Let me break it down for you. In verse 10:10 the thief represents Satan. So Satan only steals, kills and destroys. There are a number of other verses in the Bible that corroborate this. Take for example the following:
John 8:44 where Jesus spoke to the Pharisees and said, “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it”.

2 Corinthians 4:3-4
Paul writes, “And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God”.
Briefly for knowledge and further review:
James 4:7, Satan slanders God to people…
Ephesians 6:26, Satan is out to harm people and create havoc…
1 Thessalonians 3:5, Satan presents false but appealing set of plausible reasons and advantages for sinning..
John 13:31, Satan had great influence over unrighteous political systems…
Ephesians 2:2, Satan directs the activity of his army of fallen angels who conspire to tempt, deceive, and corrupt in a seemingly endless variety of ways.
On the other hand we have Jesus who came to give us life and life more abundantly. In part, why more specifically some reasons why Jesus came:
To Save Sinners

“The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.” 1 Timothy 1:15 “for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.” Hebrews 9:26
To Bring Light to a Dark World
“I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.” John 12:46 “If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.” John 15:22
To Be Made Like His People
“Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham. Therefore he had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.” Hebrews 2:14-17
To Bear Witness to the Truth
“Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.”” John 18:37
To Destroy the Devil and His Works
“Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil…” Hebrews 2:14 “Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8
To Give Eternal Life
“I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.” John 6:51
For further review of how Jesus groves is life more abundantly:
Luke 2:10, To bring great joy…
Philippians 2:5-8, To demonstrate true humility…
Luke 4:18-19, To preach the gospel…
And the list goes on, but my point is this. If you don’t know Jesus as your personal savior, if you haven’t acknowledged Jesus died on the cross and rose 3 days later, then you’re choosing to follow Satan. It doesn’t matter how good or bad your life is, I can tell you that you are on a road of destruction that only ends in death, or in other words eternal separation from God.
Or
If you are a believer and you have opened the doors of sin then you are choosing a life much less abundant that it could and would be without the sin.
But
There is hope! Jesus wants you to come to Him, He loves you and He sheds tears for those who have been deceived by lies and haven’t come to Him. If that’s you, my question for you is this, “What are you waiting for”? You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
And
Believers who have sin in your life are putting up a roadblock to so many things God has planned for their life, I ask, Why? At any level are the consequences worth it? I'm going to help you out, there is only one answer to the latter question and it is, "NO". I’m going to be straight forward, Repent, ask for forgiveness and live your life in a way that glorifies God. That's the only way to close the doors to sin and open the doors to abundance. God Bless You
May you always walk in the Truth.
