FAITH IS THE CORNERSTONE!

Today when I was sitting in Church

The pastor mentioned Moses and how he has sent spies into the promise land.  And it became very apparent to me how important that historical fact i important to us today.

You might ask,

how is the fact that Moses and the Israelites didn’t enter the promise land after God told them to but instead wandered for forty years important for us today.

Think about it for a minute, the consequence of Moses and the Israelites not having trust or faith in God was to wander for forty years and many never getting to see or experience the land of milk and honey, including Moses.

Faith is no different today than it was then.

If you peal the onion a large percentage of the Israelites still didn’t have faith in God after experiencing miracle after miracle.  Even after witnessing God part the Red Sea to give the Israelites safe passage and escape Pharaoh and his army.  If you're like me, your mind is realing with how is that possible? Maybe it's because we live in a fallen world, or that it's simply human nature after the fall. Maybe because people have grown accustom to not trusting. You're guess is as good as mine. 2 Corinthians 4:4 says, "whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them." I'll go with the latter.

We are told over and over

in the Bible to fear not and to have faith.  Jesus even told us in Matthew 17:20 “…if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, “Move from here to there,” and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”  If you take this promise and couple it with the promise found in John 14:12,  “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

Do you see the power of faith

and the power and authority through Jesus that is available to Christians?  But there is one catch, you have to walk according to God’s purpose, you must have a relationship with God the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit.  If you do not beware because Matthew 7:21-23 says,  “Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?” And then I will declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!””

It’s very important

to have a relationship with Jesus and learn His voice.

Heed this warning or better yet, this promise found in Matthew 7:13-14, “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.  Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

Wow, time after time

we are given a roadmap to Heaven within the words of the Bible.  We are given historical examples so we may learn from them in hope of not repeating the same mistakes.  It’s like the Bible is the map that gives us the directions to the “X” that marks the spot but in so many cases and in so many lives the Bible is little more, if that, than an after thought.  And God also warned us of that in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.  Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”

There is more to being a Christian

than getting your ticket punched to enter Heaven.  Salvation is just the beginning of a journey that is filled with miracles, relationships, courage and unwavering truth.  Salvation is just the beginning of realization that we were put on this Earth to glorify God and to be servants to help expand the Kingdom of Heaven.  The walk of a Christian in this world, in this realm, is promised not to be easy.  Jesus said Himself to follow Him would lead to be persecuted.   In Matthew 10:22 Jesus said, “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.” To put it bluntly, following Jesus is a life of sacrifice not only to Glorify God bit to serve His creation, to let them see Jesus shining through you.  It’s an amazing and fulfilling journey.  If you don’t know Jesus as your personal savior, there no better time than now.  It’s simple really, just set aside your pride, and acknowledge that you are a sinner.  Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”.  So it’s not like you’re the only sinner, everybody is sinner and without Jesus who washes our sin away because he died on the cross and paid our sin ransom.  If you acknowledge this, and ask for forgiveness you will be forgiven and washed clean as white as snow.  If you still are not quite sure, ask God to reveal Himself to you and don’t quit asking until your prayer is answered.

In closing,

if this article peaked your interest you might be interested in my book,  “My Experiences with the Trinity” and you may find it at VonDailey.Com.  May you walk fearlessly always with courage to stand firm on the truth.  And when you realize what Jesus actually went through to take your sins you’ll no longer want to sin.  You’ll have the overwhelming urge to shout from the mountain tops how Great Jesus is because you’ll want everyone to know His goodness.  In John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.”  With that in mind, remember there is nothing more powerful than the truth!  AMEN
