Why it's Important

I want to follow-up on yesterday’s blog because even though the experience was very revealing to me I want to explain how it could be revealing to you as well.
In the daily grind of day-to-day living it can be hard to recognize or even acknowledge events that take place that have the potential to have profound affects and/or consequences in our lives. It doesn't matter what side of the fence you’re walking on if you, including me, don’t recognize the event for what it actually is. It is very likely that you’ll either miss an opportunity to avoid something terrible or miss the opportunity to take advantage of something wonderful.
The Dangers of Pride
As I pondered why it took me nearly 50 years to connect the dots I also thought about what could have allowed me to realize sooner. The Lord was definitely talking to me and as I mentioned in yesterday’s blog, pride was the biggest culprit from letting me connect the dots. which actually took me into a conundrum. I'll be the first to admit if the Lord is talking to me I want to know all He is saying. So why do I say pride? It's not that I don't want to know the information or that I think I'm smarter than the Lord. Non of that was at play, it was because I thought I knew why Jesus visited me, and I didn’t really think about it passed that notion. I was closed minded, not purposely but I thought I was right. Isn’t that a perfect example of deception and how pride can be hidden right before our eyes. The Bible warns us not to be deceived and to look to the Lord always. Proverbs 3:5-6 says it quite well, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths”. I’ve read Proverbs 3:5-6 many times in my life, but I always read it in a mindset of how to stay out of trouble. It never even crossed my mind to look at it in a positive light and how it will help us glorify God in great ways. I hate to admit it, but my pride got in the way of glorifying God to my full potential that He created me to accomplish. Additionally, this whole realization gave me a new understanding of 1 Peter 5:8 that warns us to, "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the Devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour". I use to think that this verse was telling us not to sin and walk the straight path and you would be fine. But all the sudden I realized two things at how wrong that mindset was. First, I was relying on my own power to avoid the Devil instead of seeking God's protection. Second, the Devil can and will attack at any opportunity that will keep me from, or at least stifle me, from fulfilling my God given purpose. And the same goes for you.
Roads Cross

Of course, this is just a snapshot of my life, and it would take volumes upon volumes to fully discuss and explain my lifelong walk that led to where I am today. And even though it might be beneficial for some, that goes way beyond the goal of today's blog post. Yesterday for me was eye opening. It liken it to two roads intersecting and all off a sudden each road confirms what the other was thinking. Do you follow me? In other words I’ve been reading the Bible for a long time, well over 50 years. I have a lot of Bible knowledge, the Word of God, in my head and incorporated into my heart. Concerning the topic of the Lord choosing us is talked about a lot in the Bible and I’m fairly familiar with those verses. If your interested you can look them up for your self, here are some examples: Ephesians 1:4-5, Romans 8:29-20, John 15:16, and the last one I’ll mention in this blog is Matthew 22:14 that says, “For many are called, but few are chosen”. Why do you think few are chosen? I veered off a little but I just want help expand your thinking. I Know the Bible is absolutely important but when your experiences, the other road, match up to what the Bible proclaims and confirms what you have read is true your faith grows exponentially bigger. I know, it’s hard to imagine “big faith” but I think you get my point.
I can only imagine the number of people who have had visions or encounters with the Lord and have not realized the full significance of that experience. With that in mind, I want to lay out some questions for you to ponder on and hopefully they will assist in your own walk to revelation:
Do you believe there may be things in your life that have not been revealed or realized?
Is there anything in your life that you have you taken for granted that may have a deeper meaning than you initially realized?
Do you take time to read the Bible and pray on a regular basis? If not, how do you expect to know the Lord at a deeper level or where do you expect to receive revelations?
I'll leave it at those three questions for now. I pray that when you ponder these questions, that life changing revelations will be revealed and you'll find doors that just waiting for you to walk through.
May you always walk in the truth. God Bless you
